!!! UNSUPPORTED LINE BREAK IN HEADER !!!
There is only one week until election day and I am beyond stoked.
People going to the polls, newscasters clenched all day, my dad opening champagne or blowing his brains out,
but above all else— one thing about next Tuesday has me more excited than anything else:
It means just 10 more days until...

Unless the polling places are going to be open late, I won’t be voting at all...because freaking Tuesday.
But, I will be getting very very intoxicated...because all of our choices suck...unless somehow Bernie pulls a magic trick and somehow accidentally wins.

Only one more week until we have to listen to half of the country bitching about the president for the next 4-8 years.

He comes riding in on a bird and snatches the election from Clinton. I’d watch that.

Absentee ballots!
And Gary Johnson isn’t perfect. I get that. But he isn’t under investigation by the FBI and he’s not a sexual predator who’s about to be tried for fraud (Trump U).
It’s insane that those 2 things are the biggest qualifiers voting wise this election run, but it is what it is I guess. Also, good to note that Gary was supportive of all things LGBT loooong ago.

They get to use their real names, because they are still pure. It’s only a matter of time (4 years) before the powers that be decide that “GAMERS AND CAR PEOPLE NEED POLITICAL DISCOURSE TOO, FOR SOME REASON!!!!”

The way I see it, Johnson is pretty good with social progress (certainly better than Hillary’s VP pick...someone voted 100% on women’s rights, even though he wants to ban abortions), but he falls hard on economic policies. I might vote for him...or write in Joe Biden because he’s awesome.
And Stein...shoot, she’s just the lefty version of Carson with even more crackpot ideas. Hard pass lol

Well there’s that. If it comes to that I’ll batten down the hatches and watch the first episode. Then worry about the impending looting/war afterwards.

There are a bunch of early voting locations in your county - and even a handful in your town (at least, what I think is your town). Here’s a link:

If only he could name a foreign leader or care about things besides vaping....
But yeah, he has the fewest rasins out of the bunch. Bit of a shame none of them are chocolate or peanut butter cookies and we’re all picking between oatmeal ones :/

Most of West Virginia closes in an effort to get more people to vote. So WVU is closed for the day, which means no classes, which make me happy.

Yes, however it’s not paid time. And voting could be an all-day ordeal. I could vote early, which I shall try to do if I can get my registration in order.

Can I make a suggestion? Do research on everything on your ballot! Don’t just vote, be informed and vote.
Here’s a link that can help you preview what’s on your ballot, though it likely leaves off a fair number of local and referendum items.

Personally I’ve gotten so stuck in the presidential election that I forgot I can vote downballot at the same time as well. Because while Trump/Clinton/Stein/Johnson can make a huge long term difference, some of the fight will be lost if you don’t vote downballot as well.

Stein’s pretty looney, and that’s coming from a Gary supporter.
Like I said Johnson isn’t perfect. But he aligns the closest with me. And if you know illinois is going Clinton. Throw my guy Gary a vote, if they hit 5% of the popular vote this election cycle they get guaranteed ballot access next election cycle and federal financial support for the campaign. It can help level the playing field going forward.

Besides vaping really?
Have you watched the clip where he was trying to say the name of the former president of Mexico which Weld finally said for him because every time he was about to open his mouth the interviewer made another comment?
It’s funny how the media focuses on that and Aleppo but doesn’t talk about any of the good things he has to say. With Clinton they’ll talk about the good she’s done. With Trump they’ll invent somethings he hasn’t gotten wrong at every turn. Gary had 2 strikes and was out.

Stein is beyond pretty looney at this point. lol From her weird Wi-fi beliefs to her: “I’m totally not pandering to anti-vaxxers, but dudes, big pharma and vaccines, autism!” attitude, I’ve pretty much lost any and all little respect I’ve had for her. I have no idea how both Carson and Stein got so anti-science despite being doctors.
Tbh, my voting order is Bernie, Johnson, Joe Biden, then if all else fails, Google. I’m stuck between sticking to my primary guns and going for Bernie anyway, and giving a 3rd party candidate a chance.
I’d rather take someone who is not well versed in what Aleppo is (guarantee like 90% of voters didn’t know what Aleppo is either) than someone who is basically coming as close as he can to being the next Hitler.

What good things? All politicians say good things, but few have real plans on how to achieve it. And this goes beyond tax plans, I mean the people they surround themselves with and the friends/partners they’ll have to get things done. I’d go into detail but then it becomes what your biases are. You say the news doesnt show him fairly, I say they did a decent job of showing who he was. Further “discussion” will be tantamount to digging our own trenches.
The reason to vote for him is to, as you and others have pointed out, legitimize a third party and get them on more ballots and get them more funding. I “agree” with some of the things he says but from what clips and appearances I have seen, he isn’t anything special and is more of a boob than the other two. Granted, a boob that isn’t under FBI investigation. But in that case, I’ll vote hillary, wait for her to get impeached, and then we can get the political equivalent of a ham sandwich and a side of soup in the form of Kaine. Nothing fancy, but solid and acceptable. Something we’ll need in the coming years. Kaine can play both parties well enough and he held office in Virginia as a democrat so, not bad there. ANd yes I’m aware what I’m basically saying is I’m voting for a candidate I know has a possibility of being impeached and am okay with either outcome. But those are the people who best represent my views and if you boil it down to who will represent you here and abroad, well they come the closest.

There’s good for Johnson. Like how he was a 2 term governor. I agree with his plan to legalize marijuana (says a guy who wants nothing to do with marijuana, don’t like it and don’t like being around it but it’s got less severe side effects than alcohol, so if people want it have at it), cutting government spending, getting us out of foreign regime change, and he supports LGBT - and has for a lot longer than Clinton no less.

Proof most don’t know what Aleppo is - the New York Times broke the story on Johnson’s screw up on Aleppo (yes it was definitely a screw up, not denying that) they screwed their description of Aleppo up twice before getting it right on the third try.
I liked Bernie, he was personable. If anything is a wasted vote though, it’s on Bernie. He can’t win and it has no benefit to it.

The only reason he can’t win is because the DNC railroaded him and worked the primary in Hillary’s favour. That said, I bet there are still enough “Bernie or Bust” people out there to give him more of an edge than someone like Stein would ever have.
Most millennials aren’t going to vote, and if they do, it certainly won’t be for Trump or Hillary...it’s either going to be a write-in for Bernie, a vote for Stein, or a vote for Johnson.
